Job Description

Job Title: Junior Accountant
Department: Finance Department
Reporting to: Senior Accountant 

Job Summary: The Junior Accountant supports the finance and accounting department by performing basic accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, preparation of vouchers, encoding transactions, and assisting in financial reporting and tax filing. The role is ideal for fresh graduates or entry-level professionals looking to grow in the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions (sales, expenses, receivables, payables).
  • Prepare vouchers, checks, and other accounting documents.
  • Assist in reconciling bank statements and petty cash reports.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and balance sheets.
  • Help in the preparation and filing of tax returns (BIR Forms 1601C, 2550M/Q, 1701/1702, etc.).
  • Maintain organized records of financial documents.
  • Assist in audits and other financial assessments.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the finance department.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA license is an advantage but not required.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome; up to 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and Philippine tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to learn.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

KSAO for Junior Accountant position:

Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of general accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with Philippine tax regulations (BIR forms and deadlines).
  • Understanding of basic financial statements (e.g., income statement, balance sheet).
  • Awareness of accounts payable/receivable processes.

Skills:

  • Basic data entry and document management skills.
  • Competency in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Basic proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Good attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Able to follow instructions and meet deadlines.

Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply instructions.
  • Capable of handling repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.

Other Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related course.
