Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines; Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production; part repairer of an engine part that is no longer working properly and can still be replaced.
Reads and understands the specifications or blueprints for the work to be done and plans the steps to be taken to complete the task.
Uses extensive knowledge of available materials and the latest technologies to plan and select the material and tools to be used for the task.
Shapes the material by cutting, drilling, boring, turning, milling, planning, and grinding.
Finishes and assembles parts by hand and uses scribers, gauges, and other instruments to achieve accuracy.
Remains up-to-date on information about new technology in materials, methods and equipment.
Reports to the Production Manager. Works with other machinists and repair production equipment and make custom parts.
Physically demanding job as some lifting is required.
Be aware of Health and Safety standards; along with a high understanding of Dignity and Diversity in the workplace.
Good personal hygiene and a tidy and appropriate dress sense uniform will be provided that you will be required to wear.
Takes precise measurements for cutting and shaping.
Selects appropriate machines and settings for a given task.
Maintains inventory of completed products.
Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
