Company Description

Brief History

In 1988, the late Mr. Angel Ong, President of East Indies Mercantile Co. Inc., was approached by several Korean business friends with the idea of putting up the very first polyethylene (P.E.) foam plant in the Philippines. Being a 20 year veteran importer of plastic machineries and synthetic resins, Mr. Ong was technically capable of handling the proposed project. Studies were subsequently made to ascertain the product’s advantages, applications, and marketability; however, with Mr. Ong’s untimely death, the project was temporarily kept on hold. Several years later, his younger brothers, Mr. Philip Ong and Mr. David Ong, and Acro Sales’ Mr Joe Tiu, breathed life back to the project. Together with a nephew, Mr. Kenneth Pe and other incorporators, they formed Insulite Manufacturing Corp. in 1995 with the vision of providing Filipino consumers with a cost effective alternative insulation and packaging material. By 2002, the Company has reached new heights in market and plant capacity leadership with the acquisition of state of the art and high quality Korean machineries.
